Reach Out To Our Friendly Team Today

At Energetics Institute, our goal is to provide our clients with transparent and accessible therapeutic services. We are psychotherapists and not psychologists, so Medicare rebates do not apply. While we do not offer Medicare rebates or support the Mental Health Care Plan, we offer cost effective therapy solutions. Our aim is to bring more peace, meaning and fulfillment to our clients’ lives.

    Medicare Rebates

If you wish to get a Medicare rebate or use a Mental Health Care plan, you would need to see a psychologist and not a psychotherapist. As we are psychotherapists and not psychologists, we are not registered as Medicare providers.

Should you wish to obtain a Medicare rebate, you need to initially organise an appointment with your doctor. When you meet in person, your doctor will organise a Mental Health Care Plan. Your doctor will send a copy of the plan to your preferred psychologist and also provide you with a copy of the plan. Once you meet your psychologist, you will be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.

    Contact Us

If you need any advice or assistance regarding appointment scheduling or our therapy costs, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to support you as best we can.

You do not need to have a MHCP plan to see one of our psychotherapists. The advantage of this is that you do not initially need to see your GP to get a referral. However, you cannot claim a rebate from our therapy service.

With a MHCP, you can claim up to 10 sessions over a 12-month period with some psychologists. With this limited number, you can use them up quite quickly, especially if you are working on some deep-seated issues.

Only certain types of therapies are allowed to be used with a MHCP, which can limit the scope of treatment that you may feel you need.

Yes this will mean that you will have a mental health disorder diagnosis on your medical records. This could potentially impact your insurance (life/professional indemnity) etc. Also you may be concerned that other treatment providers may make assumptions about your diagnosis.

Not exactly, as when you complete therapy, your psychologist is required to write a report back to your GP. Therefore, you are not guaranteed full confidentiality. Also, if you are involved in legal proceedings, sessions under a MHCP show up on a Notice of Charge document. Your opponent could potentially track down what treatment you are receiving and obtain your mental health provider details, making it easier for them to subpoena your records.

    Mental Health Network

We have transparently outlined the various types of financial support for Mental Health Support in Australia. We all have a right to avail of accessible and affordable mental health services. There are many options available so everyone can get the support they need without financial barriers.

    GP Resources

We value collaboration with GPs and other healthcare professionals in delivering holistic healthcare. This enhances the quality of care delivered to clients.

    Bulk Billing

Typically this is more commonly associated with general practitioners (GPs) than psychologists or counsellors. As we are psychotherapists, we do not offer this service.

    Private Health

Our services do not require a GP referral but cannot be claimed through a private health fund. Our fees are often equal to or less than the standard gap payment.

    Medicare

Medicare and Mental Health Care Plan rebates are not available at our practice. However, we strive to keep our therapy affordable and accessible to clients.
